baton rouge general, part 2...

i went to see emily at happy hour, because we can't go more than 12 hours without some sort of contact.  emily reported to me that she had swallowed half a toothpick while eating an olive.  now we're sitting in the emergency room.  this is a good thing because there really is a toothpick (half of one) lodged in emily's throat.  it hurts when she laughs.  to hell with that toothpick.

not only did this happen, but.  WHILE at happy hour visiting emily, one of the regulars attacked another regular and the police were there and our poor boss had to come up and deal with it all.  WE LOVE JEFF.  

THEN (before ER and after fight) this lady at the bar told us that she was a high school teacher and one of her guidance counselors burned her school down.  recently.  this month.  and i felt bad for thinking that she has a whiny voice.

so november 24, 2008: here's to you.  specifically between the hours of 5 and 9.

emily: what about awkwardly watching murphy brown talk about racism and a grumpy black lady?

oh yeah. and we're watching candace bergen on some show talking about barack obama, while sitting directly across from a disgruntled (and not a little vocal) black lady.
